I supervise the live action shooting and virtual production in Wellington, New Zealand. I oversee the budget, supervise the hiring of all crew and manage the day-to-day running of the Unit. I also sign-off on purchase orders, invoices and timesheets, and say the word "no" a lot.

What is the most challenging part of your job?
Staying on top of the day-to-day changes and making sure the team knows what's going on. Shooting during COVID-19 has also added a new layer of challenges for us all.
What was the most exciting part of working on Avatar: The Way of Water?
Building an amazing family of crew from all walks of life and getting them to perform at their very best while coming up with amazing solutions and ways to do things. Probably the best example was watching our departments test the flooding of the Mako Submarine.
Is there a detail from Avatar: The Way of Water you would like fans to know more about?
I don’t think anyone really understand how much live action we filmed because it’s all blended so seamlessly into the CG world. Basically, every time you see a human they were filmed for real and we made their costumes, their props, the set they are standing on.
