February 21, (THEWILL) – The Acting Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Mr. Joseph Imalighwe, along with the entire staff, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr. Ismaila Danjuma Adamu as the substantive Rector and Chief Executive Officer of the institution.
In a statement issued on Friday and signed by the College’s Director of Information, Dr. Jude Amadi, NCAT described Adamu’s appointment as a demonstration of the President’s commitment to merit-based leadership.
“The very rich profile and pedigree of the new Rector lend credence to President Tinubu’s vision of placing square pegs in square holes,” the statement read.
Adamu, a distinguished academic and seasoned administrator, holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University.
He also earned a PhD from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, with a thesis titled “The Impact of International Air Transport Liberalization: The Case for Nigeria.”
His extensive knowledge of civil aviation management and operations has seen him participate in several high-profile aviation conferences, seminars, and courses, including Air Transport Marketing in Westminster, ICAO Trainair Plus Competency Course in Kenya, and ICAO Basic Aviation Security Course in Bahrain.
Before his appointment, Adamu served as an Aviation Management Resource Person at NCAT, equipping himself with the expertise required to steer the institution forward.
The statement noted that Adamu’s experience spans both the air and land transport sectors, positioning him as a well-rounded professional for the role.
“Dr. Ismaila Adamu, a proud son of the soil and a dedicated family man, is warmly welcomed back home to NCAT,” the statement added.
