February 18, (THEWILL) – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Faizu Alfindiki, has distributed 50 mobile phones and N5 million worth of data bundles to social media influencers in a bid to bolster President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 polls.
Alfindiki, the immediate past Chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government Council, presented the gadgets at a ceremony in Kano, where he emphasized the critical role of digital engagement in modern political campaigns.
According to him, the beneficiaries—drawn from Kano and beyond—were selected based on their reach and influence across various social media platforms.
Their mandate, he explained, is to promote Tinubu’s presidency by amplifying his achievements, policies, and programmes.
He also urged them to highlight the vision of APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as part of broader efforts to solidify the party’s base ahead of the general elections.
“This initiative is a strategic step to strengthen the party’s grassroots support and sustain its ideological framework. Social media has become a key battleground in shaping public discourse, and we must ensure that our narrative is effectively communicated,” Alfindiki stated.
Observers view the initiative as a calculated move to leverage digital platforms in driving voter engagement and shaping public opinion in favour of Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Expressing appreciation, the beneficiaries pledged to use their platforms to project Tinubu’s presidency and the APC’s agenda in the lead-up to 2027.
