I work with a number of different departments and artists to develop real time lighting motifs for stage and support that lighting through the virtual production process to achieve the director's vision for a sequence/shot.

Most challenging part of your job?
Keeping on top of the fast pace of the production and making quick/real time changes while shooting on the capture stages.
What's surprising about your job?
The lighting for virtual production is constantly changing and evolving along with the story — scenes can switch from day to night, morning to afternoon, as needed.
First job in film?
Assistant Technical Director on The Hobbit with Weta Digital. I had the opportunity to get a look into a number of different departments before deciding on what I was most interested in pursuing.
Best advice received in the film industry?
Share your knowledge. Even if you are just starting out you will know things that your teammates don't, so don't be afraid to share what you know.
