What’s surprising about your job?
The first test of the underwater camera housing was done in my bathtub and the first capture test was done in Jon Landau’s pool.
Favorite memory from the first Avatar?
My favorite memory from the first Avatar was watching the crew first see the virtual characters interacting with the live action actors through the Simulcam.
Fun fact about yourself?
In building a custom baby monitor for my daughter, I got carried away and built a full-sized robotic R2-D2... that also includes a baby monitor.
Most memorable experience from seeing Avatar in theaters?
I remember the people in the theater, friends and strangers, with jaws dropped during the first 3D shots of the Pandoran forest.
