The Interstellar Vehicle (ISV), is a Capital Star class ship specially designed to carry significant payloads from Earth to the Alpha Centauri star system, namely the moon of Pandora. ISVs such as the Venture Star were one of a multitude of vehicles in an interplanetary supply chain exploiting Pandora’s natural resources. The mining of unobtanium — a highly valuable superconductive Pandoran ore — covers the operational expenses of the seven-year expedition from Earth to Pandora.

A crew of about 25 members will oversee the operational maintenance of the ship as well as up to 200 passengers who are placed in cryosleep for the seven-year trip. The inhabitants of the ship and its unobtanium payload are protected by four angular, flat plates tethered by a central trunk to the forward of the ship known as the Interstellar Debris Protection System (IDPS).

More recent iterations of the ISV such as the Manifest Destiny would tow rugged, 40-story buildings known as Landing Modules. When an ISV reaches the upper atmosphere of Pandora, the Landing Module would be dropped as “Sling Loads” allowing for instant domination on the ground. Heavily armed RDA troops equipped with AMP Suits would quickly be deployed from the Landing Modules to create secure perimeters. The Landing Module in tow of an ISV allowed for almost instantaneous on-the-ground development of Bridgehead City upon landing.
