Though it is by far the largest member of its respective family, the Whipfang Crawler can still surprise the unwary. Staying low to the ground, it creeps through the undergrowth of the Clouded Forest, staying out of sight until it is close enough to strike. By the time the prey hears the rattle of its bifurcated tail, it is already too late to escape. It deploys its unusual fangs, which flick up to the top of its head in a whiplike motion, and projects venom with lethal precision. This venom is a contact poison that absorbs through the skin of its victim, and even a small dose can be fatal.

Hunting in small packs of up to five individuals, the Whipfang Crawler can also use its strong jaws to attack, while remaining protected by the plates that run all along the top of its body. It is capable of advanced pack tactics, communicating with vocalizations and pheromones, which enables a group of Whipfang Crawlers to face off against larger threats such as the Thanator.
