A parasitic creature on the moon of Pandora, the wolf tick survives by feeding off the blood of a large animal like the hammerhead titanothere or sturmbeest. It feeds by embedding its head and thorax in the host using its powerful mandibles and sharp barbs. If left undisturbed, these parasites can stay attached and feeding for up to eight days.
